The Academy teaches you how it works. The MEF-CECP was the networking industry’s first and remains its only vendor-independent professional certification. It validates the Carrier Ethernet expertise of all who’ve completed the rigorous exam and gone on to earn this prestigious certification. While Carrier Ethernet remains its roots, the work of MEF now includes new trends in telecom, including Software Defined Networking (SDN), Service Orchestration and Software Defined WAN (SDWAN).
The SDWAN Academy was founded in 2018 concurrent with the MEF’s expansion of its professional certification program to include a Software Defined Networking credential. MEF developed an expert level SDN certification (MEF-SNCP), designed to validate the expertise of professionals in the emerging SDN field and create an extended learning path for those who had already achieved other “associate-level” industry certifications desiring an expert-level certification.
The following year when MEF began holding meetings to define the industry’s first SDWAN Standard (MEF 70), it once again expanded its professional certification portfolio. The SDWAN certification (MEF-SDCP) was added to their professional certification portfolio in 2020. The SDWAN Academy expanded its Boot Camp course to deliver advanced technical training on SDWAN and prepare students with the knowledge and expertise to earn the new MEF-SNCP and MEF-SDCP professional certifications.
Since 2007, The Academy and its faculty of experienced engineering professionals have actively contributed to the technical work of MEF and helped created and evolve its professional certification program. The Academy became the leading provider of training for professionals seeking MEF’s Network Expert Certification, an advanced certification requiring expertise in both Carrier Ethernet and SDWAN. The Academy was awarded the prestigious MEF Ethernet Excellence award for “Accredited Training Provider of the Year” in 2018 and again in 2019.
